I came across a page today that says all of the bacteria extracted from tomatoes have, so far, been innocuous to even the most advanced AIDS patients.

This next may not apply to AIDS in particular at this time but, >>

1-octanol stops programmed cell death. It can stop the degrading actions of more than one toxic source; for instance, it can counteract the effects of exposure to ethanol, thereby negating, among other things, fetal alcohol syndrome.

They will have a pill out in a few years to halt fetal alcohol syndrome that contains 1-octanol and homedistilling can eliminate almost all ethanol in beverage alcohol as well (it, and methanol, are the first 3% that boil off).

1-octanol is found in many things, including pesticide, and is related to the fatty acid contents in foods (and fertilizers). Soy is high in 1-octanol.

knock-knock

who's there?

orange oil is a great pesticide as well

I like tomatoes for many reasons and today we saw some very interesting fert stats for the tomatillo as well. I have some seeds that came from a plant which gave purple tomatillo fruit and so I am hoping to grow them out even sooner than previously expected.

i wonder if they will ripen faster with purple mulch like tomatoes do with red mulch

and i wonder about a great deal of things (as you might guess re my word count in this thread/)

I also admire your rainbow avatar.
