There are so many ways to grow mj! This is quite a tall surround technique. Alot of care has to be taken with the plants because they get very spindly. The plants were not pruned and vegged for 2-3 months. There are 4 plants in the mix, ww(2) and wwxkm (2-the bud plant). These plants are 2-4 weeks from harvest.

gigi, i am curious why you do not stunt the stem elongation in that kind of fluoro grow? it would reduce the "spindly" factor.

Nanos? uh.... I don't remember! The ipod is seriously cool though. Sorry about the pics VT! I have a bunch still locked up that I'm working with admin and mods to clear out - part of my overall horde I've been trying to reduce. I've seen error messages of all stripes related to pics! I like the new rule, becuase its a little uncomfortable feeling on the web in general lately. I desparately want to show off my pics, but I feel safer after I take them down, even though I'm just replacing them with updates. Its a weird feeling, but what can you do?

pf - not my grow! I know many people who grow and never pinch or bend. I've heard the theory that the main cola bud is better. But you can see how crazy it gets doing it with floro. Thats four elongated plants instead of my typical 4 shrubs. Its a very clever use of space though. Growing upwards. To do this and get the simlar or better harvest yeilds this grow is using more electricity - closer to 800 watts total. And a longer time frame to grow in - I think at least a month longer overall grow time, maybe 2. In that little area there is almost 100 watts per sq ft shining on the plants. Ironically, growing upwards takes as much training and care as LST.

Another difference - the pots are 3 gallon. I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes, but I always get more bud from a plant in a 5 gal pot. And I think the buds are bigger too. Its very hard to quantify what the root space does for a plant though.

I don't get the difference in energy...like...800W...that's how much actual power drawn? Lol...I don't know jack...but 800W's is a lot...why not get an HID? Not bashing...seriously...I wanna learn this floro stuff...cause I am interested in vegging with some down the road...and I can't afford to be running buckoo HID's...

just because people grow for years and never do any training doesn't mean they couldn't get better results in the space they use if they did incorporate some form of training. the logic that "i've know lots of people that..." doesn't actually have any baring on whether or not a a give practice for certain kind of space might or might not be of benefit. no worries tho.

i just personally consider elongation to be an enemy of my my power consumption.

my training techniques, by the way, are not what i would consider LST. more like medium to intermitent heavy stress training.
