Police attended a minor collision between a semi tractor unit and a pickup this morning at the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 97 and arrested one driver suspected of being under the influence of an illegal drug.

The driver of the pickup called police stating the driver of the semi was acting aggressive. Attending police seized a small quantity of marijuana and a pipe. The driver was arrested for being under the the influence of a drug while operating a motor vehicle and underwent a series of sobriety tests at the Prince George RCMP detachment.

He was not charged but impaired driving, but did have his license suspended for 24 hours for being under the influence of a drug while operating a motor vehicle and was also charged with following too close.

Police had the semi towed to a local tow yard and the owner has been contracted to retrieve it.
