since i know there's plenty of folks on here who for various reasons have to be more mindful of their health than the general population, i figured this would be as good a place as any to ask this question ...
i'm "toying" with the idea of doing a 4 or 5 day juice fast in the coming weeks. from what i've read so far, i should go through a period of at least a day or two of eating reduced, smaller meals comprised primarily of salads and easier to digest proteins like fish. this is followed by the peroid of consuming nothing but freshly made veggie juice of various types (i have a juicer) and water (we use a Brita filter system).
once that "fasting" period is concluded almost everything recommends slowly reintroducing solid foods back into your diet via salads and other raw veggies along with other easily digestible healthy foods.
i'm a little overweight, so i'm not too worried about running out of fat stores during this process ... also not looking at this as a weight loss program, gotta get my pudgy ass up and out for more exercise to take care of that. basically just looking to clean the pipes out as it were and give myself as clean a starting point for a healthier diet as i possibly can.
it hit me the other day that my wife is due with our first child in early january and i don't want my son's early memories to be of a father chewing antacids like candy and suffering chronic migraines. debating about following the juice fast with some mushroom tea, maybe a day or so after i've started adding solid foods back into my diet.
just looking for input / advice / experiences others may have had with this process ...
