What is this?

I inquired to a fellow TY'er about this and was given an answer, but just out of curiousity I'd like other answers also. When transplanting into 5 gallon pails 2 plants that were given new homes smelled of cat urine. Very strong actually. Is it a strain? The name of said "strain" really doesn't do a thing for me. I couldn't possibly say oh I'm smokun "Cat %#^^"!. lol She looks great none the less. Just wondered if anyone else ever has had this!

You said "during transplant", could it be the soil smelling of ammonia? Or is it just the leaves smelling?

It seems to be the plants themselves. I don't have a pet issue. It is just so strange as I was given these seeds to try and was told they were something different other than cat &^%%! lol I thought it was my sense of smell which is quite keen. Actually the Ladies look quite stunning and nothing is wrong other than their smell! LOL

I've grown a strain that totally reaked like cat piss when drying but it was good smokeand in the end it tasted good too..

Yup.....no cats allowed in the room yet....there is a strong smell of cat piss with some strains. It didn't smoke or taste like cat piss....I drank some cat piss to find out what it tasted like......lol.

I don't think Cat Piss gives it out this rarly.

If it smells like pee, I would think the PH is probably WAAAAY hot.

Cat Piss is a strain..... as Echo points out, NYCD also can have a strong acrid smell not unlike uria and it's not the only one. Some plants just stink like this.
