    Default Hemp Plant?

i was outside yesterday walking thru one of the pastures and found several plants im not sure what they are..they have a leaf like a pot plant yet the plant itself grows like a carrot..(best way i can describe it)

i had planted several mmj plants along the fence row the yr before including males and wondering if somehow pollen from males drifted into pasture and created these little buggers..lol

ive seen hemp feilds before and this plant doesnt appear to resemble hemp either could this be what they call jimsum weed?

i wish i could provide a picture but im not comp savvey..i took pic using my webcam and have them im my email but dont no how to post them. Could one of the members asist me in posting them? micah

    Default It's not Jimson weed....

Jimson weed looks NOTHING like pot! It has more "normal" shaped leaves and huge white morning-glory type flowers. The flowers are almost sickly-sweet smelling. The seed pods look like a thorny ball- which gives it it's other name- thorn-apple. Incidentally, for me, a half dozen the seeds (NOT the whole pods) work quite well to dry up a runny nose- just remember that every plant may have different potency. Unlike pot- Jimson Weed CAN kill you. The name is a contraction of "Jamestown weed". There is an amusing account from 1676 about it.

"In 1676, British soldiers were sent to stop the Rebellion of Bacon. Jamestown weed (Jimsonweed) was boiled for inclusion in a salad, which the soldiers readily ate. The hallucinogenic properties of jimsonweed took affect. As told by Robert Beverly in The History and Present State of Virginia (1705): The soldiers presented "a very pleasant comedy, for they turned natural fools upon it for several days: one would blow up a feather in the air; another would dart straws at it with much fury; and another, stark naked, was sitting up in a corner like a monkey, grinning and making mows at them; a fourth would fondly kiss and paw his companions, and sneer in their faces with a countenance more antic than any in a Dutch droll.

"In this frantic condition they were confined, lest they should, in their folly, destroy themselves - though it was observed that all their actions were full of innocence and good nature. Indeed they were not very cleanly; for they would have wallowed in their own excrements, if they had not been prevented. A thousand such simple tricks they played, and after 11 days returned themselves again, not remembering anything that had passed."

An 11 day trip! I've never heard of anyone staying high that long on Jimson weed on one dose- I keep wondering if they were given repeated doses- just to keep the townsfolk amused? If it was one dose, I'm surprised the soldiers didn't die, considering how high they got. But as it was, an amusing time was had by all.

Anyway, I don't know what you have in your pasture, perhaps you should go to your local college's biology department and ask them to "key it out" and find what it really is. Just say you thought it looked like marijuana and were worried that kids might be growing it- but say it came from somewhere other than your land! There are several plants that do look similar to cannabis, but have none of it's qualities.

I think ive seen those around my area b4. They wont get over 2ft tall and they produce little yellow flowers. Dunno the name tho.
Marijuana is not a gateway drug. If someone uses marijuana and later down the road tries any other drug, they do so because their attitudes regarding drugs have changed. There is nothing in the chemical makeup of a marijuana plant that would lead anyone to use any other drug, and that is a scientific fact.

What im thinking of is a plant that the leaves look like his avatar a bit. They look like pot leaves but.... the saw teeth on the leaves r bigger and more pronounced and the leaves arent quite as spear shaped as a pot leaf. They round a little bit near the ends. The color and shape of little yellow flowers remind me of the flowers of a "stinking roger" plant (see below). Ive seen them in MN and NY.

This isnt the plant, but the flowers resemble the plant im thinking of.

shit maybe it was a cannabis plant. i remember a number of years back me and my friend found a small 4 inch plant growing in the cracks of the cement stairs where we used to hang out at one of the local parks. i figure someone was smoking there cleaning their herb and a seed popped right in the crack and germinated.

Many years ago i lived in a not so nice neighborhood in SF. Outside up against the house, in the corner, was a 6" tall pot plant. It had near black leaves. A small bud formed on top with almost yellow pistils. I watched it grow another week or two and the bud was ready. I plucked it and thought for sure it would be bunk. I dried it and there was enough for 2 doobs. I smoked the first one and got ripped. I went outside and was walking down the street and found a $50 bill on the sidewalk. I was thrilled. I stayed buzzed for a couple of hours. The next day i smoked the other doob and got just as stoned as before. Took a walk and headed to the GG Park. Sat around stoned drinking Ripple with a guy and his girl. They left and I was walking along and found a bag of what turned out to be very nice pot. Had to be an oz. or close. I think that small almost black pot plant i found and smoked was a blessed plant in some way. It was very lucky for me.
