Marijuana March organizers numb down at Mama's ganja buffet

Puff Mama's sunday-night ganja and grub revue headlined by Global Marijuana March MC Watermelon would have impressed Jay Gatsby himself. A warm-hearted med-cannabis baker, Puff Mama - who refuses to use her other name - throws grass-infused, in-the-know fundraisers featuring her delectable edibles and Wayward Comedy Show.

"All these med users can come out and have fun," she says of her occasional parties.

At these functions, she raffles a beautifully manicured 12-gram bud. Proceeds go to a women's shelter near her home. Some time back, she threw a bake sale for tsunami victims. Puff Mama's generosity to pot organizers and med users is legendary. She's sent care packages worth hundreds of dollars to me and many others.

"The money is going out to everyone who works hard in my community. Plus, these functions are helping support people. I pay my staff well. Sometimes performers want to work for cookies," she laughs. "I want this to be a legitimate industry." She's part of a growing trend of registered grass businesses. Puff Mama's helping achieve our dream by baking over the government.

Money raised from this Green Dinner, held in an off-the-record location, and from other sponsors, paid off some of the march organizers' legitimacy bills, which included an invoice from Toronto police. Though the 5-0 low-balled its crowd estimate, the fuzz didn't cut organizers a cheaper hourly wage for hired protest-control officers. Police ignored the stench of grass, but there was also an incredible amount of legitimacy in the air.

Puff Mama's booth and all the others bore city vendors permits allowing them to sell hemp edibles. Taxes on those sales might ultimately convince politicians to regulate the market.

To orchestrate the Global Marijuana March, organizers have to be part bagman and part government paper shredder to get the legal okay, which can drive them crazy in the process. Puff Mama's after-protest soirées, a weird combo of North By Northeast after-party and Cannabis Cup, relieve that tension. "The organizers get nothing for putting on these demonstrations. That's why I give them a party."

Still recovering from the previous day, ganja glitterati (posses from G-13, Roach-O-Rama, CALM, Section 56, HUMAN) begin arriving at the downtown banquet hall an hour late for the buffet, which includes scrumptious vegan, vegetarian, organic and hemp dishes.

When it comes to the munchies, Puff Mama cooks with gusto to ensure that stoners eat healthy meals – except for the dessert table, filled with various pies, pastries and breads. This spread didn't even take a hit after G-13's Peter piled a small mountain of a dozen of everything on his plate, flabbergasting his wife, Suzy.

Though Puff Mama's staff includes a maitre d' to escort guests to their assigned tables, settling these stoners isn't an easy task. Social butterflies speak of strains and pressed hashish while holding spliffs in their right hand and tasty bhang, THC-infused smoothies or bong island ice tea in the other. They fire up doobie after spliff after joint, sharing and sampling one another's favourite marijuana flavours.

Guests begin to relax once a fog akin to the streets of London or San Francisco fills the room. Watermelon takes the stage, and as her music fires up, she strips down to a blazing brassiere and ruffled-bum panties, douses herself with water and begins to squeegee her body as the crowd roars. She's perfected the art of cannabis activism and entertainment.

Watermelon came to fame by beating the rap for selling cannabis cookies on Vancouver's Wreck Beach. Noted cannabis lawyer John Conroy sprang her by hammering home the point that the Vancouver Police Department couldn't confirm the presence of THC in baked goods. With these victories, Puff Mama argues, edibles have entered the land of the non-prosecutable.

I know a few folks who wouldn''t touch anything that comes from Puff Mama me included! I have been to her home and let me tell you once I saw her kitchen I vowed NEVER to eat another thing that this person puts out even if I was STARVING!

I would love to see in BLACK & WHITE that the funds were actually given to the intended party. I know that I'm not the only business to get burned by this person. It just goes to show you who's greasing whose palms.

That would be me.

I have nothing good to say about her and I know her well ... everything she does is geared to trying to sell you bad pot food. Most of it isn't even made with quality canna-butter but shitty shake cannabis flour ... gritty and shitty ... and hard as rocks ... count your teeth after eating a cookie. Anyone who thinks she cooks good food has obviously never tasted good food.

Helping med pot people? well this is one she blatantly ripped off. She asked me to put my stuff in her store on consignment and promised me a 85/15 split because I was an activist ... well, she sold my stuff and has refused to pay me ... and then berating me anytime I asked for my money ... I eventually offered to take only 25% of the original amount just to resolve the debt and she ignored me ... when she did respond, she called me a jerk for asking ... during the same period she could have paid me she sponsored a summit, flew in activists, had shows and donated money to the other charities (to make herself look good, I guess) [I don't begrudge the charities for receiving it] ... I guess I was ok when I was donating pieces to everyone of her shows for the draws. I forgot the best part ... when I went to remove my stuff from her store (because she wouldn't pay me and kept making excuses for months) there were pieces missing that she previously said she wished she could afford to keep ... I guess it is easy to afford something if you just steal it.

Just another Pot Star wannabie and a major Emeroid ... just like Matt Mernaugh ... that weasel ripped off a BC3 bong I made for a raffle ... and he must be supplying the whole NOW magazine to be able to keep writing the incoherent crap he does.

... haha ... I have to explain part, as I sound like a hypocrite ... I called them Emeroids (referring to members of Mark Emery's cult) and then stated I donated a BC3 bong ... BC3 was for three individuals unjustly up on extradition charges ... I made it for the summit that he was here in Toronto for and thought since he was there in person, it may attract a higher bid ... it did get a decent bid but the guy who bid skipped out before the end of the auction so Matt said he would put it up in a future event ... I never saw it again ... so, you see, long story short (too late) ... I was nice to everyone equally but found only a few genuinely appreciated it.

Well I would say That I am one of the best ganja baker here!!! ( I know there are many of us here) I bake the best hot homemade brownies right out of my Shasta shagga wagon camper at all of thE festival I go to!!! yummy yummy!!!
I am also put on the 2 nd annual ganja Bake off at Harvest festival in Starks, maine!

Hey I guess I should make a visit to the new location and see what she has on her shelf. Hell maybe I could even get the remainder of what is owed to me from 4 years ago LOL

I did ask her at the Toronto Cup if she made all the food at her home and if her place was still a mess with all those animals running around her kitchen. Her reply was that she has a professional kitchen that she has access to but I just DIDN'T believe her so none of the folks I knew ate anything made by her.

I know he says he likes woman but it wouldn't surprise me. What would surprise me is that anyone would try to sleep with him, he's a little snake. He acts like he's helping sick people opening a compassion center but what a lot of people dont know is that when someone who donate goods to him, (if it be Willy Jack Seeds, Bud Buddy,few fantastic growers) he would charge full price to all the members or smoke all the good organic cannabis that was given to him or given at huge discounts and sell "Street/highschool" cannabis (low quality) cannabis to it's members at full price 100-120 for 1/2 oz. He owes me hundreds of dollars that at the time I didnt mind because I was beeing fooled and didnt see the real him*even though people warned me). Oh and I'll be going to puffs store in the next few weeks....I'll see what I can get..lol....Peace

I know for a fact that the "staff" are paid by the hour with weed and to top it off based on retail cost of 10$ per gram. I've heard the complaints in person by staff there so it is not second or third hand info. I lost several thousand myself over a period of a few short years attempting to gel with this group. I have now come to better understand who, where and when to offer my help amd as far as I'm concerned Marco is alright with me.

If I got started on Mr. Mernaugh I could fill two or three pages but again, I've learned that there is no point in trying to enlighten those in the movement who stick together like glue through thick and thin claiming "solidarity" but in the end, we must judge the value of ones contributuin against any negative impact that contribution might have instead of blindly following these morons with there "We're here, we're high, get used to it" mantra.

Lets see how these activists would survive should Dom decide the pressure in the cooker is too high and cuts a few of them loose to reflect on what was lost or destroyed by there in your face radical style of protest. When Goodwin and Mernaugh were in Hamilton at the "Up In Smoke" and pushed the limit by giving kids free weed which caused the closure of their place of business, persecution and closure or ceasation they quickly bussed there way to T. where the antics that brought them down in Hamilton appear less threatening here but, given there style it will not be long before the reprocussions of their actions cost us in some way and when that happens we'll here the old "plug the courts, never plead guily"mantra which they themselves will ignore when they plead guilty to everything to avoid facing the reality of their conviction.

Sorry, I got a little carried away. Can you tell I have a few issues with these specific individuals?
