    Question trifoliate seedling

Just started a new grow,I have four, three week old Jilly beans going, one had a stunted first true leaf and one regular one...the entire plant is quite stunted and has a short stem veering off center and has three leaves growing simultaneously instead of two ... is this a common occurrence??? It appears to be slowly catching up with it's siblings...otherwise it looks ok...I'm new at this, so what do you think...let it grow and see what happens, or cull it now ??? Thanks,

    Wink Grow it....

if it turns out to be a true tri-foliate it will produce approximately 50% more buds. But if the plant is just stunted and not a true tri-foliate it will be weak and behing your other seedlings. Wait and see And clone before flower of course in case it really is a rare tri-foliate.

Dear Pothead Pete, Thanks for the reply...my little seedling is still trying to catch up to the others and still pushing three leaves out simultaneously... will take another photo and get my son to post it for me...I'm internet challenged. Thanks for the info, will let "her" take her chances and see what happens.

    Smile JB tri-foliate ? photo

Hey Pothead Pete, below are two photos of my jilly bean seedling; so far it looks like the three leaves are all growing side by side, three at a time...also another mutation is a single small leaf finger growing from the center of at least two leaves so far...this little plant just keeps surprising me,another great surprise would be if it was a female.
    Keepin it green

Benwire, thanks for the reply...will let you know re the gender of my little JB...If the presence of the little phallic -like accessory leaves is a clue...then I'll be expecting it to be a male lol...

I have seen plants with such appendage and they usually will throw a female bud at such appendage. To me this shows female traits. We shall see....

Unhappy Trifoliate preflowers...and the plant proves to be...

Well pothead Pete, and Benwire, after much anticipation and patience I have to report that my beloved little JB trifoliate, has sadly for me, turned out to be male, and has now converted to a polyploid ? , growing as many as 5/6leaves from the crown...I still have Him and couldn't face culling him with the rest of the boys...Time marches on and I will be forced to do the deed ...thanks for all the input and speculation.

no reason you can't use it for breeding Mama G
We are all related, brothers and sisters to all that walk, crawl, swim and fly, cousins to the dust and rain that refresh our Mother Earth. Always remember life loves you and hate is never the answer
