Cool Tube Light issues

I hope im in the right forum. I recently got a deal on 3 1k hps Ballasts (3 for $150), and i started ordering what i could afford in CoolTube relector/setups, which i prefer for the time being.
The normal; length is around 19 inches, and i always thought all the sockets were the same; so even tho the ebay ad said for 400 watt, i figure it can run my 1k ballast. However, it just showed up and he cooltube is only 9.5 inches long! (and also 5in, which means another step)

The coolTube is much smaller than i had anticipated, as admittedly i neglected to read the dimensions on ebay. I didnt know they made them small.
I had read that all teh socketsd are the same, so i shud b able to run a 1000 watt hps thru it. I have the ballast and am waiting on the bulb, but i am concerned with the size of your unit, and am unsure as to whether i shud send it back to them

Does anybody have experience with these sockets as differing in their ability to handle the bulb? Or in these small cooltubes?

Sounds cute, albeit ineffective for 1000k's. Myself; I'd send em back in favour of the bigger ones. But thats just me.

What you got there sounds more like a glass bake'a'round than a cooltube as such. bake'a'rounds can be used as cooltubes for much smaller lights but yeah are beyound ineffective for larger ones. I would not attempted putting a 1k in it.

ok I will chime in here with a little info....

OK most likely they are different size cool tubes for different watt bulb....

When i went from 400 to 1000 the bulb was like2x the size as the 400 ,

I couldnot believe the diference in the size of the bulb....that right there tells me the

cool tubes are different sizes IMO Peace Peach

Doe anyone hav eany pictures of these cooling tubes?? I am hoping to get me one for my light!! but i just do nto knwo anythign about them HELp prutty please and thank-you!
