    Default Bad News!

I have been told that SueZQ will NOT be joining me at HEMPFEST due to her being in EXCRUSIATING PAIN in her knee. She doesn't think she could handle the 10 hour ride and then spend 4 days in the motel room with her leg up as she doesn't think she will make it hopping around. She has another Dr appointment the day before I am to leave so maybe we will get some answers. I took her to the hospital last week because of all the pain that she was in and the Dr at the hospital just gave her TYLENOL 3 and said that there is NOTHING that can be done as it was her ARTHRITIS getting worse. Now I hate to leave her at home but I don't know what else I can do as I have to attend. SueZQ has stated that she wants me to go even though she is staying behind.

sorry to hear your girl is suffering. i had no idea that hempfest was so far away. a ten hour drive from where you are or is that both ways. the reason i ask was i been thinking about taking a run up for a day or two as i have other obligations on the 28. i had no idea it was that far.

Yes it is 10 hours 1 way! I normally leave early in the AM like around 5 and that gives me time to get there and set up. I guess I will need to check into the motel then go to the grounds where HEMPFEST is being held. It will be a LONG and LONELY drive but hey I'm a BIG BOY I can handle it!

    Unhappy lonely ride

That is bad news Marco. It will sure be a lonely ride for you and even lonelier for Sue. Wish I lived over there.

Sue, I'm so sorry to hear about your arthritis flaring up. There are so many people suffering from this debilitating disease, and it's a real shame there aren't any better treatments available. Maybe with a change in the fall weather it won't bother you quite as much.

Now I'm not a Dr. [close but no Cigar] but I would add an NSAID of some sort, ya they kind that kill, but then acetaminophen ain't no pick'i'nink.

Ibuprofen containing meds even though this is probably OA.

Glucosamine and chondroitin have been shown to work for OA.

That and a bag of ice [add a bit of water to the bag for an extra cold blast or a *wet* towel full of ice is the best] and Suzy should be right as rain.

    What's right about rain?

It's not a cure..but it helps moderate the pain: Glucosamine / Chondroitin pills.

Taking a double strength dose for a week can help increase lubricating fluids in the knee and often stops the inflamation in a few days. It's cheap and well worth trying.

Even if Sue isn't up to the trip....it can make her time at home more comfortable.
You can get it in markets, health food stores and drug stores.

There is another supplement: MSM. Now the jury is out on this one as some people have great releif and some no effect from MSM...trying these are well worth it if they help.

hey marco: if suzy could get celebrex ( yes the one that kills lol) it works miracles on osteoarthritis. I've been laid up, excruciating pain from both hips, right knee and foot, neck and lower back, and r-shoulder, all knarled up with bone spurs etc, and one hour after taking 500 mg capsule and I'm up and going downtown. now that doesn't work like that all the time now, but my joints are way past being moderately damaged too.
I'm not one for recommending pharmaceuticals, but this one does the job for me. hopefully her pain will subside when that weather change has gone through.
