Whys one plant purple?

I have 5 plants that all came from the same batch of seeds.
I don't know what they are as they came from a bag of hermie cannabis
that someone gave me. As I could not afford seeds this year I used what
I had. One of the 4 plants that I have in large containers is purple.
It has purple buds and stems from the stock to the leafs.
I do not think that this is a nutrient problem. It is a very healthy
plant, in fact the best one of these plants.
I have never seen this before. Anyone else?

I'll take some pics tomorrow if it is not raining!

P.S. I had about 50 seeds and at least 45 of them germinated, not bad for some unknown seeds.

It could be purple since the pollen is from a different father. The female can be pollenated by more than one male.

Thanks for the reply's. I was under the impression that there were some plants that were naturally purple? Or is it always a nutrient deficiency?
We have had colder temps here for the last week. So it could be just the cold?
Why are they not all the same? They have been all feed the same and been in the same temps yet only one plant is purple?

I have a nice blue berry, just one mind you.. The pistils are bright purple, and the primary and secondary leaves on the mature part of the plant are all purple it has been for weeks. The plant is booming healthy like no other..

some seedlings from the same plant will have a genetic predisposition to stress and some will handle it better

stress from sudden cold snap will cause a plant to use all the available K in 1hr and thus turn purple seemingly, over night
those that stress eze have a genetic predisposition to that level of stress
in this case it can be measured by low air temperature or the sudden change from moderate to cold snaps

when you supplement with K the leaves that are purple will stay purple
its strictly the new growth that will be effectively returned to the plants original colour

dont worry about this CANNABLISS, this is a very normal thing. You will see that some plants will express recessive and dominant genes . some from the male and some from the female but you will also see trates from further back in the gene pool as well. This does not mean to high of K and actually it not that common to see purple in stems from to much K. You would see signs of nutrient burn first on the leaves...keep an eye on this one as it could just be a really good example but it could also mean the oppisite.. either way your going to have to keep a really really close eye on all of the plants as there from a hermie batch as you say . So that trate will most likely show up in the seed offspring but not always... I say this as it could have been a light leak that cause the hemrie or some other problem.. its not alwways gentics that will make plants go hermie but it is very common... The best thing to do if possible is to not ever use HERMIED seeds for these reasons....

Purple from cold stress isn't the K being used up. What happens is the cold - prevents - the K from being used by the plant. It's commonly called "K lockup" in the agriculture business, The plant starts to turn purple from the -outside- at the leaf tips , and progresses to the stem. It's a sign of damage.

True purple strains are the result of large amounts of anthocyanin* (a plant flavinoid that makes grapes, apples, peppers etc. red). True purples change color from the stem outward to the leaf tips. That's how to tell cold stress from a true purple strain.
