We can't keep chasing people away from this forum. The body count around here is pretty low as most can tell from what 4-5 posts per day down from what 50-100-150 per day?

And I don't like the whole pile on crap either.

This is not a popularity contest.

Everyone should have a voice, no different then the world we live in.

I agree with everyone having a voice, as long as it is not constantly name calling and insulting. I am always open to an intelligent debate/conversation. As a matter of fact I love it, the best way to learn is to be open to new ideas and being able to admit the possiblity of being wrong. I never start the dirt throwing and many times choose to not even answer, but to have someone constantly call you names and insult you all the while trying to make their posts sound like it was written by a super smart person can be very tiring. Being sick also makes one quick to lash out but chill has been pissing in a lot of peoples posts and I think those of us left don't want to put up with it anymore. Pisses me off when we spend so much more time mud slinging than organizing as patients.

Everyone should have a voice, no different then the world we live in.
In this instance multiple 'voices' expressed similar concerns regarding another 'voice' that always seemed to spin what others said, or, had something rude or negative to say. As paddyk pointed out, far beyond what would be considered reasonable debate; seems that I remember a moderator saying much the same thing, to the same person. They then attacked the moderator.

You're dreaming in technicolor. Otherwise, link to the offending post(s) in question, and we'll have a good laugh over how you misunderstood everything.

Signing doctors are absolutely corrupt. That doesn't mean as you said, "all", it does mean most. Certainly it means those who make an entire practice out of signing, which tend to be the ones that sign the bulk of them.

If you think that's an insinuation, get yourself a fucking dictionary. I know the "doctor" that signed for me is corrupt as all get out. That's my opinion of him, shyster, con man. Does that mean that I don't have a legit medical use for it? Only according to you bunch of hypocrites, but that would be an error in inference.

Perhaps the point I made that you were too "emotional" to grasp is that being signed doesn't make you "legitimate" in the eyes of health canada or anyone else. There are all kinds of "legitimate users" who are not signed, because of the system that's so corrupted it was stricken down in court.

As well, countless people who have been signed are totally illegitimate. You'd have to be a real idiot to think being amongst them lends you more credibility than they've earned. Understand? It's completely idiotic to exclude legit people with legit concerns from your little group because you think being amongst thieves, as it were, is better company.

But you can't argue such logic, so you have to feel attacked. boohoo.. sniffle.

It's painful to have to lay it all out for a bunch of halfwits that jump to simplistic conclusions and get offended regardless, then complain about "too many words" and not being smart enough. Whatever. Try to reread it a few times and see if it sinks in before you mess up your panties.

And then we have another group that thinks being grandfathered is a dirty word but then doesn't but then does and doesn't understand what the fuck it means. Pretty funny.

Some of you are dancing on short strings and that's all I can say. You're hopelessly corrupted as a group already, by "those" appealing to your self interest. But that's how you lead the myopic isn't it.. you put what they want right in front of their face and they're blinded to everything.

So yeah, good luck being the only ones that health canada is going to listen to... good luck having the only "vote" that counts...... clap.... clap..... clap .......... clap

And because "some" can't argue their point honestly, they need to appeal to mommy to intervene, and gain favor that way. "Some" people, aren't very honest around here.

Default To get back on track..

    What we gonna do?

Taking 'Hellth' Canada to court usually takes time, but it depends of the urgency.

On a few occasions, I brought HC to Federal Court (Ottawa) in a few days...with an Order of Mandamus, Section 18.1 of the Federal Court Rules (to compel the federal health minister) - 3 times in 2 weeks once.

Many MMAR ATP holders who would not be able to access and afford their 'constitutional' cannabis medicine would be an urgency, and it would qualify for an Order of Mandamus.

This will happen on the day they will terminate their Personal Production Licenses (PPL's) and Designated Production Licenses (DPL's).

I'm sure that John Turmel would be happy to help me out with this one too..if it becomes necessary.

We did it before, I won, and we can do it again..so, they're warned!

Cool Glad to hear that Marc as this has also caused me stress....

All of us are under stress from this whole mess. And ill.
There will be a load of backlash and court challenges to come if these proposed changes are indeed enacted.

Stress also drains on energy, strength and courage, and for sick and dying Canadians, it's important to stay calm and NOT get stressed until HC's intentions become reality.

But in the meantime, there's nothing wrong in getting prepared.

What 'if' in HC's plans that some of their authorized grower(s) can supply excellent quality at a very little price?

It would be unlikely to see this scenario by seeing what HC already charges (overcharges, plus tax(es) and transport) for their 'crappy' pot, but 'if' HC really wants to avoid more court challenges against them, they will surely have to offer better quality and multiple varieties at a very low price..and free of charge for some!!

I have watched a lot of infighting backstabbing and protection of vested interests in the many comment sections and boards.

It seems we number about 600 that is no where near the approx 12,000 people who have licenses and are not "in the loop" How do we get the idea of a patients group out to the general public?

The face book groups are free to join and it gives those that set them up some credibility to say they sort of represent a group.

In these groups the common wisdom seems to be, we wait till hc actually announces that the new regs do away with ppl/dg then an injunction can be filed. I have been trying to find out where to send an affidavit to attest to the value of patients being allowed to grow their meds. However no one has said where or when, or which lawyer is going to file it.

I have spent over 10 g setting up my personal garden and have been asked to dg. I said no because I could not guarantee that I could properly supply the patient as my garden is hard pressed to supply my own needs. It is still cheaper to produce my own than any prices I have seen at the come cash in clubs.

I will not give up my garden. I cannot see any court telling any med patient they cannot have a med garden. That they instead must pay the lcp price. The problem is diversion, don't divert your crop. Five or six large producers are not going to be able to supply the ever growing number of patients.

What would work is if those with ppls could grow their own. Its their garden and as it is for 1 it should not be huge. Those who dg would become licensed commercial producers. Provided that their operations met a minimum standard. They could produce for 1 or 100 dg's need to be regulated as there have been too many problems with patients not getting their meds when the over enthusiastic dg cannot keep their promises or ends up diverting the meds to cover the grow costs. The come cash in clubs could be used as outlets for the lcps and if the ppl grower produced extra they could sell it to the come cash in clubs if their quality was acceptable. But only to a yearly maximum otherwise they should become an lcp and be taxed on their profits.

These are just some thoughts, as for joining a group lots exist already. I have joined them they all are short on $ big on ideas. Your $ might be better spent buying a toner and a ream of paper and running off a few thousand propaganda sheets and flyers from the ones that are already posted by the various groups that already exist.

OR A VISIT TO YOU LOCAL MP'S OFFICE. Those work wonders. Get a local group of patients together find out when the mp is in the office and visit them to discuss the problems we are facing. Having media when your local group visits is a good idea too.

Ottawa looking at fewer growers, says Maple Ridge MP

By Phil Melnychuk - Maple Ridge News
    Published: April 17, 2012 5:00 PM

Ottawa is changing the rules on medical marijuana and in a few years most patients may no longer be able to grow their own or buy it from designated growers. Instead, they’ll have to order medical marijuana from a larger, authorized grower and wait for it to arrive by courier.

MP Randy Kamp reviewed the changes for Maple Ridge council Monday, explaining that someone who’s sick will go to the doctor, and if Health Canada concurs, the doctor will write a prescription.

The patient will send the prescription to an authorized grower, who will ship it by secure courier to the patient.

“It seems to us and it seems to you that the [present] program isn’t working, that it’s being abused and that illegal growers are using it in a way that it’s not designed to be,” Kamp said.

Currently, Health Canada has issued more than 12,000 possession-only licences for medical marijuana while more than 7,000 people have a personal-use production licence.

But the system has been criticized by police, who say the medical grow ops attract crime. Ridge Meadows RCMP Supt. Dave Walsh said last week that formerly illegal grow ops are now licenced medical-grow operations.

Kamp said the government expects the new rules to be challenged in the courts.

Following the transition process, by about 2015, people who grow their own or those who are growing medical marijuana for others will see their yearly licences expire and “will not be part of the program.” Instead, they’ll have to get a prescription and order from the “authorized grower.”

“That will be their source, one of the authorized growers. They will not be able to grow anymore.”

Kamp said licenced growers will be able to select the varieties they produce as well as the prices they charge.

The new system will reduce the number of medical pot growers, but make them larger. “We don’t know how many, but there will be a relatively small number of authorized growers.”

Health Canada also will be able to audit and inspect those operations, he pointed out, and while the system probably could be improved, “I’m pretty pleased with the outcome.”

Kamp said pharmacies were considered as a means of distribution, but that would require a drug identification number.

“Pharmacies definitely don’t want to be part of this.”

Doctors didn’t want to be involved either, he added, but it’s difficult not to get their participation. Under the new rules, doctors would determine the amount of marijuana, just as they do with other prescriptions.

As of Oct. 30 – 12,225 people hold an “authorization to possess” dried marijuana licence under the Marijuana Medical Access Regulations in Canada.

Of those, 7,277 people hold a “personal-use production licence,” while 2,163 more hold a “designated-person” licence, which allows someone else to grow their marijuana.

Coun. Al Hogarth said Maple Ridge should start determining regulations now for such operations to ensure they don’t end up in residential areas, while Coun. Cheryl Ashlie wanted to ensure Maple Ridge’s small farm lots of five acres wouldn’t be excluded from any future medical marijuana grow operations.

“This is a potential economic driver for us and I don’t want to lose out on that.”

Kirk Tousaw, B.C. president of End Prohibition, has mixed views on Health Canada’s plan. Mail order would work in remote parts of the country, but people often become accustomed to visiting the compassion clubs such as the The Always Growing Green Society in Maple Ridge, which dispenses medical marijuana.

“I’d hate to see that lost. I hope that Health Canada finds a way to bring them into the fold,” Tousaw said. “There’s a lot of healing that goes by being able to talk to others in similar circumstances.”

But he says the government may be afraid of storefront operations. “Probably because it normalizes the idea of buying marijuana at a store.”

Commercial growers don’t necessarily want to be involved in the retail aspect or direct selling, Tousaw pointed out.

The new system could also hurt patients who just grow small amounts for themselves. Now, they’ll have to pay for it.

“I’d hate to see them turned back into criminals.”

But he likes the idea of expanding the system of designated growers and taking advantage of economies of scale.

The “evolution towards a business-regulated model for the production and distribution of marijuana is a good thing and an inevitable thing.”

It’s something that should be happening for healthy people, he added.

Unfortunately, abuse, like beauty, is often in the eye of the beholder. What many of us here may see as a doctor bravely holding roving clinics and compassionately signing many sets of paperwork, others see as an attempt to cash in. People see what they want to see.

    You're welcome paddyk

Unfortunately, the good always pay for the bad..that's life, but that's not how it should be.

Those who cheat should pay, and those who don't should not fear any consequences - not even the fear of losing their grower's license.

But in the eyes of 'Hellth' Canada's MMAR and their RCMP friends, we're ALL the same, and we should ALL suffer...extra!

There was no post reference in your reply paddyk, so it's best to post this article once more.

    Take care,

As bonafide medical users as supported by the medical establishement vis a vis our personal physicians or signing specialists, it would seem that we are a "class" and as such if they begin to rescind our rights to grow could this challenge not bear more weight as a "class action" lawsuit?

This is quite a long thread, so I skimmed but did not read it all.

The problem (as I see it, the elephant in the room) are the folks with no ailments who pay doctors to sign forms, to grow pot while legally protected. They then sell it illegally to the black market for big cash. The police can do nothing, they are allowed to grow the pot because of abuse of the system. I have even seen the local news run this story.

Removing that ability makes all those type back to illegally instantly, they can now be charged. I see that the main reason for this (aside from economic benefit for the government) proposed change. The potential backlash from charging sick patients who grow their own medicine for financial reasons is immense. I just don't see that happening at the beginning.

Unfortunately, it's a slippery slope, that will be used to put the screws the legitimate medical growers, and one I hope gets pushed back in court.

Hi dabbin, What "news" stories are you talking about? The abuse of the med system is NO worse than the abuse in any human endeavor and actually much less than the abuses by politicians and businesses. Abuse of the med system is nothing but bullshit. Hellth Canada abuses the patients many times more than the patients ever could!!
The best way to overcome any abuse is to legalize it

    Default dg's abuse patients too

the system is rotten in places. I have a permit and the dg's organization has failed in every aspect of delivering a quality product to me on time. they had my strain list last june and to date I have received three packages, all short by 80% for the agreed permit, and then missed two months without explanation! great way for me to manage my pain, sleep, appetite and muscle spasms?
i graded the three shipments as such, 1st was 3/10, 2nd was 1/10, and the last was 1/10. the last shipment was so bad it gave me a headache as soon as i vaped it. I had two friends over, seperately and after they stole a vapor bag when I wasn't looking lo,l they said they wouldn't take it if it was free, and both were out of meds at the time. the dg didn't know what cbd's were and didn't want to understand that 5% thc wouldn't do much for a patient who takes 100mg of morphine a day for a broken body.
more info will be released once the paper work is complete as I will name names for an article for marco so no other patient gets fubared by these shysters
Hit them where it hurts, show them the scientific truth about marijuana, while debunking the lies.
Even politicians know, that the truth will always win.

Hellth Canada abuses the patients many times more than the patients ever could!!
The best way to overcome any abuse is to legalize it

They were local (bctv or city tv, I cannot recall) news stories, explaining how they used MMAR to become legal, without any ailments to be allowed to grow, and sell illegally. They had an unidentified grower who was part of a small group of growers who did just that. I wish I could find a link, but I cannot.

And I know abuse occurs anywhere there is money to be made, the only problem is the 'big bad drug problem and our children' gets much more attention then political corruption stealing a few hundred thousand.

I just hope that regardless of the federal laws on it, that the police will do as I hope and leave true medicinal users alone.

hollowpoint was this a case of "free" meds in exchange for being your dg? I hope you have dropped them in any case as it seems to be a waste of time and shitty meds.

I think you might be refering to the 16:9 on Global a few weeks back, check out this thread for the discussion http://www.treatingyourself.com/vbul...ad.php?t=47193 there is much about that show that is not correct. That "grower" they show is fake as far as I'm concerned.

If someone got a license just so they could grow for $$$$ what is in it for them to now tell their tale? More money, fame, a chance at getting his head smashed in by the other 10 guys he has workin for him??? LOL And he said he did it because it was the right thing to do expose this terrible mess? What a joke, maybe for the rest of the herd not me. I say bullshit.

Global called Dr. K a "drug dealer" and he has still not been charged and the OPP have all his patient confidential medical files including little billy who he treated for an ear infection last year. Fucking sickening.

Abuse in every sector of any society when you have greedy bastards all trying to get their share of the cash is all. Why punish all the kids in the classroom when only one of them chewed gum? Grade one was bullshit and soon we started rebelling against that stupidity some folks still allow it to happen I won't.
