Ive heard some people allow their plants to sit in darkness the last 48 hours or so right before harvesting them in order to increase the "sugar".
Any truth to this or other techniques when u get to 55-60 days?

there was an article about it years ago and it claimed 7 to 10 days or something that extream , its only in the last couple/few years people are saying 48 hours , and 48 hours wont do shit , we left (forgot) a couple plants in the "dark" (harvest) room for 2 weeks one time and it didnt make even the slightest difference , also tried 2,3,and 4 days and that also didnt do shit , tried with multiple strains too , feed your plants properly and possibly differently then you have been for the last couple weeks leading up to the flushing and you will see vast improvement in your (sugar as you called it) trich's , google it , its all in the care leading up to the flush and nothing to do with added days of darkness
OK
so on the other side of that question, what can SpiritFilled Do to his plants to bump up the sugar if anything?
Tea rinse ?
Kool aid?
Scotch?
What you got?![]()
"a rising tide lifts ALL boats" jfk.
blackstrap molasses, during flower, and after flush. not to heavy, 1/4 tsp gal. max. works for me. plus their Peaks that helps,,,,

I use it from start to finish adding it with fert, then at the end I add it to all watering, seems to work well.

once your in flowering you can add 1 tbsp of molasis
and for flushing it will help use up built up ferts/salts if you arent organic
honestly never noticed a flavor difference when useing molasis or not but others claim to
I use bud Candy (I have used black strap in the past with no problems), but I wanted to mention that I have found that budcandy does give a sugary taste to my buds, if this is what you are seeking I would advise giving it a try if your growing style isn't condusive to using blackstrap.
cheers and good growing,

also wanted to mention that if you use blackstrap I would advise premixing it in a container prior to adding it to your reservoir, it's alot easier to stir up a few teablespoons in a 1L container than try to stir up a 100L Rez.
Finally, if you live near a baking or bulk foods supplier (in canada we call these type of places "Bulk Barns" you can buy bulk molasses at an extremely discounted price. Never go into a hydro store and buy Blackstrap (good stores probably wouldn't carry it and would refer you to a grocery store anyways) as it would be overpriced.
