I'm alive!

I know some of you have recieved the first print run of the magazine. Thank you for all your comments. It has really helped to pull the first issue together, and given me ideas for the second issue. Since hempfest, I have been creating the final layout for the first issue for the printer. It was really usefull to print a small first run to see how things would look! Done! And sent off!

I can finally get back to normal surfing and posting on TY.

But just before that... (heh heh) I'm ready to begin working on issue 2! I have a partial list of people and the stories they are working on, and I will contact people on the list to get back up to date. The first issue was started back on the old, old web site, and some of my notes are sketchy! I lost all my PMs from way back then too. If you have an article you are interested in writing, please PM me. If you are interested in writing, but do not have a specific topic in mind, I have been putting some article ideas together. I am also looking for people who would be interested in submitting artwork (electronic)! To everyone who submitted pictures (and to those who continue to do so), thanks, thanks!

I also need to know if people are interested in having another brainstorming chat session like we did for the first issue?

My schedule for the next little while: I would like to put the outline of the second issue together over the next 2 weeks, and get people to start writing. I have 2 partial stories I was working on myself that didn't make issue 1 because I was too busy! Maybe I can be a reporter for issue 2 and not just the editor! The month of October is going to be the writer's month, where stories can be honed, and expanded or serialized. So I will be looking for story submissions for the end of October from people. Then in November I will once again be around less so I can work on the layout and graphics.

If you are interested in being part of the magazine, I can find something for you do work on! I had a harder time making this statement a reality for the first issue because I really didn't know what direction the magazine was taking. I didn't know what kind of research I could get people to look up, and what kind of stories people could start working on! Now I am ready ! The next 2 weeks are for bouncing ideas around, and for the really keen to get started writing! I can't wait!

what stories are you looking for in this next issue? or is there a monthly theme or approach to the design?

I have been looking for stories that fall into a few main categories: personal stories/anectdotal information, mj related stories, activism, alternative health, interest/hobby stories (unrelated to mj), editorials, current events.

The overall goal is to show that this is mainstream. We see so many images of stereotypical drug use! But everyone here knows you can't just look at someone and immediately know that they happen to be use mj in some manner. Every walk of life is represented by people who use mj medicinally.

Over all it is to promote RESPECTABLE and RESPONSIBLE USE! We also want to educate the masses on how to GROW and USE this GOD GIVEN HERB where by ELIMINATING the need for the BLACK MARKET.

what about stories about abuse of power? like insurance companies that cut off your LTD just because they think you won't be able to afford to sue them? or modernizing the grow to make it possible for all avenues of disability, from stacked shelving to automated pumps etc.
