    Exclamation My crappy grow

Wow. My last grow sucks so far. I started off on the wrong foot by re-using the old soil from my last grow -- I usually grow outside but recently went indoors -- because I never read anything about not to.

Well, mushrooms started growing, fungus and mold problems, soil/nutrients all locked up ... the plants were basically devouring themselves just to survive. Finally figured out what the problem was and pulled the plants, cleaned off the roots really good and re-transplanted.

Amazingly, they never even wilted. There were just so damn grateful to get out of that old dirt. Anyways, they're about 2 and half feet tall now and mostly yellow, but the tops are looking healthy and it appears there may be a chance. They are trying to come back.

Then today I find (buh-bum-buh-bum-buh-bum) spider mites feasting out. Anyway, I know what to do about them and do it. But man, I'm ready to rip the whole grow out, sterilize and start over -- except it's all I got going right now. Damned rookie mistakes -- lesson learned.

Anyway, I just germinated a bunch of new seeds from both Gangaland and Peak seeds. So far 15 of 18 have germinated, and I expect to see the others by morning. I'm hoping for 100% germination -- and with any luck -- ALL FEMALES -- right, not with my luck lately.

Don't really need any help. My last grow was fantastic. Just wanted to rant about how much it sucks to have to buy cannabis when I can legally grow it. Oh, the sad, sad irony of it all.

    Pass me a blunt ...

So, watch out where the huskies go, and don't reuse that soil, NO

Scurvy, you ever tried using Barricade, Pirahna, or other beneficial fungi? Mycrohizzae is the only way to go when using soil. It makes the difference. Hydroguard and Hygrozyme are lifesavers too.

Never tried any of that stuff -- yet. This is only my second indoor grow -- so I guess I have to fine tune my system -- and not make stupid mistakes. Can that stuff be picked up at any grow store? Guess I'll google it and find out -- thanks

What was the strain to start with here ? Sounds like a very strong strain to survive through all that.

The plants that have been to hell and are trying to get back are Holland's Hope and some free medical mix seeds from Gangaland.

The stuff I just germinated is a White Rhino x Skunk from Kaya seeds, and some Blueberry and Northern Berry from Peak seeds.

I mistakenly said I was germinating stuff from Gangaland, but that was last time. They had a good germination rate, but can't remember what it was.

The White Rhino x Skunk was a medical freebie from Kaya seeds -- so thanks to Kaya seeds and Peak seeds for some great stock.

Scurvy, I just found a good reliable mail order unless you have a hydro store in your town (or close to). www.truevisionhydroponics.com , the Hydroguard and Hygrozyme are awesome, the beneficials in Hygrozyme do not have a shelf life so you never get dead microbes in your medium. Fox Farm has a slow release you can add to soil with a bunch of mycrohizzae in it, as does AN's Pirahna (very expensive). You can also buy straight mycrohizzae. The Barricade has silica in it which really works for buffing up the cell wall divisions. Awesome stuff. Any questions, pm me and I'll give you a heads up on what I use and the functions of what it does. Everything is 100% organic too.

ScurveyPirateGuy. don't feel bad, I specialize in crappy grows, seems I'm always battleing something. Like now, ten days from harvest and notice the start of spider mites, spray with Safer's, re-inspect with micro-scope, still a couple here and there, no prob, so close to harvest I can live with a couple of bugs, still trying to kill them tho. here is my question, are these lil' bugger's still going to be munching on my buds after I hang? They very thought of bugs in my jars eating MY pot really ticks my tock.

I pulled some plants with mites and found that all left once the plant started drying out,but they can still make a mess of your buds with their webs. Perhaps a good hosing off before or after pulling would help get rid of the stragglers

Didn't know you could flush with neem oil -- certainly sounds better than the (yuck) application of neem oil to the plant

PS -- Some mistakes may actually work to your benefit -- like I thought my plants were in flower and were going to be all f'd up from all this -- still possible -- but then I noticed there was a bypass timer switch on my timer that must have got clicked when I plugeed it in, so I'm really still in veg. Well, until I discovered the (hopefully) final error of my ways.

Now on the brighter side, 10 of my 18 seeds have already poked their heads up above the dirt (all 18 germinated) so hopefully next grow will be a little more fulfilling.

I would recommend NOT smoking mite infested meds, make hashish instead.

i didn't either till my fiance read it on the back of the bottle. i wouldn't use it in flower cause of the uptake through the roots but veg is fine. after a plant got ravaged by mites i was determined to get the little SOB's. bug bombing with pyrethrum is out cause of my pets and the house is 300 years old. so i could never get every nook and cranny so it was neem oil and NPS for me. it worked for me but as always results may vary!!

    Thumbs up mites

When I noticed mites during the last week of veg last year I tried the chemicals that are supposed to be safe for fruits and vegs. Applied this once every 3 days and did it three times with a water rinse in between. Flowered them out, Harvested and cured for 3 weeks in jars. Then I froze it all for 1 week and then continued with my cure, I have a microscope and could not find any

ps by the way SPG watch what you say in the forums. Companies will cut your throat for the chance to bring out a new product that we all ,at one time or another could use. And with a pretty good name to boot

I think JJ Walker already patented the Dyn-o-mite expression. I'm pretty sure he needs money now and would sue me if I used his catchphrase for my product. BEsides -- too lazy -- I'll use the stuff that's already out there
