Very recently I had a visitor in my home. Now first of all don't ask me what my condition is, I'm pretty sure doctors don't really and truly KNOW how to find out whats wrong with folks. I have been feeling BAD lately. You folks know, one of those bads where you just go to bed and pray you wake up when it's all over or maybe not even wake up at all kinda thing.
We have a compassion club that is a 45 min. drive from me and uhh I don't drive. It's all good though cuz the lady that runs this place delivers.
Now this thread may have had it's proper place in the Rant Room cuz I'm prolly gonna come off that way. But considering she IS an activist I thought it should go here. I appologize for the wordy nature of my speak, for those of you who know me, you know better. For those of you who don't, either go watch some TV or buckle your seatbelt so you don't slide outa the chair lol. Boomer's talkin.
There's a large percentage of us out there who never see anything but the inside of our homes. Everything from I just don't feel good and don't want to see people, to I have MS and my legs are shaking so bad I hope to get to the front door today so I can look out the window. Every sindle person out there who has something like Cancer or MS, or any of the other miriad bed or house confining illness's knows and has in common one thing. Even if there WERE a compassion club close to us how many times are we ACTUALY going to feel good enough to get in a car and GO THERE?
Now here's my thing, When I find out it's the person who runs the place is the one who will deliver my meds I was happy. When she comes over she wants to load up a bowl of each thing she has so you can try it. I swear that by the time you get around to trying to decide what you want your feeling good enough to decide. She is always happy and cheerful when she comes and it's very refreshing.
This time when she came over I sensed a certain stress in her and asked her about it. She told me that she has been considering opening a store front and all her friends are like "fight the good fight", and "go for it", and that sort of thing. She is all stressed because She has been told by the locals that She will be busted if she does. Now here's the main point, I told Her she should NOT open a store. Why add the stress when what she was already doing was so important. Now I'm not very smart but I KNOW how people feel I always have. You folks out there with say MS, don't you have those times when yur sittin there in your chair and yur legs are jerkin bad and HAVE been for 15 frikin hours, are you not just sitting there praying to God that someone ANYONE would come by and smoke you out?
She asked me what about the folks who can only afford a gram and how She could not afford to deliver such small amounts to people. I told Her, you know what? If you don't feel comfortable AT ALL opening a store, don't do it.
She will tell you that she does not give freebees<-- not sure thats a word lol, and She does'nt so don't ask. But you know how many times I have heard, "sorry I'm a few min. late I stopped by and smoked a bowl with this cancer patient friend of mine"? Your sitting there wishing someone would come by and BAM someone does. Thats what I'm talkin about.
You folks that are in the trenches doin stuff can back me up on this, She goes to bed a 3:59am n gets up at 4, or thats what it seems like sometimes. If you get sleep at all no Big Bro? We got these super folks peeps and they just keep shovelin more stuff onto their own plates. I would never hope to name all the names of our folks here and do them ANY justice but you see them, the folks in red. They are doin stuff, piling all our portions on their plates, and their reasons for taking so much on themselves is simple. No one else picked it up so they had to.
To all you folks who run this place, and all the folks out there who do so much for us. You know who you are, the compassion clubs, the sponsors who contribute so much, the modirators,(you truly have no idea how much they do), our spritual folks who help us stay centered, our humorists who help us not take it too seriously.
All you folks who are DOING things, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Just another 2 cents from Boomer
